This project is a reworking of architect Frederic Lassere’s iconic 1955 Friedman House. The garden and pool were Cornelia Oberlander’s first project when she was new to Vancouver. The heritage landscape was retained and restored, and the original house’s exposed structure was preserved and celebrated. All new floor area is concealed below grade, tucked out of sight from the street.
